Land Purchase

Makeadifferenceuk intends to purchase 2 acres of land at a cost of

£2,000 - £3,000 at a location in Gatchoka, Embeere District, Kenya.

This land will be used for the following purposes.

1. The building of a rescue centre for up to 400 children who are at an age when they cannot look after themselves, perhaps because parents are dead or dying from HIV/AIDS.

2. Building a school with nursery, primary and secondary facilities.

3. Build a school kitchen

4. Build a library

5. Build a school hall,

6. Build toilets and washing facilities.

After the purchase of the land it is hoped to be able to obtain some funding from local organisations and business both in Kenya and UK. Some interested parties have already made verbal pledges.

It is hoped that the local government will donate about 10 acres of land for the purpose of farming in order to feed the children and the workers in a self help scheme.

The labour for the building work required will be mainly supplied by prisoners in EMBU prison who have building skills. A trained builder would supervise the work.
